MN Student Survey

The 2025 Minnesota Student Survey (MSS) will be administered to students in grades 5, 8, 9, and 11 between January and June 2025. Schools are required to notify parents about the survey and provide an opportunity to review the questions and opt-out their child. The survey asks students about various aspects of their lives, including school climate, bullying, out-of-school activities, health behaviors, and connections with school and family.  
Key Information for Families:
  • Notification: Schools are required to notify parents about the MSS administration, including the dates and the right to review the survey.  
  • Review and Opt-Out: Parents have the right to review the survey questions and opt their child out of participation.  
  • Timing: The 2025 MSS administration will occur between January and June.
